Leslie Prevish—Merging Passion and Career
With a track record that speaks to her drive and expertise, Leslie manages to balance career, multiple pastimes and volunteer work. She’s been instrumental as an advisor in the creation of Power of the Road. Listen, chat with, learn, and get inspired by Leslie at the Power of the Road online conference, April 7 to 11, 2014.
Leslie Prevish fell in love with two wheels when she was four years old and learned to ride a bike. She hasn’t slowed down, except to wipe off the dirt from her skinned knees. Her parents encouraged her to love learning, which motivated her to earn a B.A. in Journalism, M.A. in Italian and an M.B.A. in Global Business.
After three years of retail marketing at a dealership, Leslie started her corporate career with Harley-Davidson Motor Company. The next 12 years taught her the dynamic power of branding and consumer engagement.
A decade after developing PR plans, managing consumer and press events, and editing two magazines, Leslie became the Women’s Segment Lead, a position she lobbied to create. Her talented team increased sales by integrating advertising, PR, website, email, social, event, and retail experiences.
In 2010, she moved from motor to pedal at Trek Bicycles, where she managed global marketing for Town and Women’s Specific Design (WSD) bicycles and accessories. After two years at Trek, she left her position as Director of Global Consumer Outreach to fulfill a dream—doing a mission trip to give back.
During her 5-month volunteer experience in Tanzania, Africa, Leslie taught music at a primary school, and then helped the organization she was with market their Mt. Kilimanjaro fundraising climbs. She raised $7,200 for the orphanage with her climb.
Upon her return in April 2013, she fulfilled another dream by establishing Prevish Marketing. She now brings her extensive knowledge, experience and proven track record to companies, to help them attract new audiences.
Leslie volunteers with Girls on the Run, Outdoor Industry Women’s Coalition and Gabriel House women’s services.
Living in Scotland, Italy and Tanzania taught her the importance of relationships and communication. She’s explored most of the U.S., hiking trails from mountain to sea. An Ironman triathlete and adventurous spirit, Leslie enjoys sharing her love of outdoor activities with friends.
Wow so many stories she must have and so much we could learn…can’t wait
You’ll enjoy Leslie’s presentation Alison. She’ll share lots of tips anyone can use in his or her own situation.
